HELPING JORDAN MOBILIZE FUNDING FROM THE GCF
The aim of this project is to help prepare Jordan to mobilize GCF funding for its highest priority climate change projects, in line with its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) and other key national climate strategies and priorities.
Established by the 194 countries who are parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Green Climate Fund (GCF) is the largest multi-lateral financial mechanism for climate investments worldwide.
The GCF aims to catalyze a flow of climate finance for low-emission and climate-resilient development, thereby driving a paradigm shift in the global response to climate change.
Natural Strategies helps Jordan access GCF funding. In providing technical support to UN Environment’s GCF Readiness Programme in Jordan, Natural Strategies develops key elements of the national GCF architecture. This includes helping to develop strategic options for the elaboration of a GCF country programme, for the decision-making structures of the GCF National Designated Authority and for Jordan’s no-objection procedure related to GCF funding proposals.
