Our services are deeply grounded in the principles and methodologies outlined in the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) guidelines for climate, the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) and the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), as well as prominent regulation like the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Depending on the specific needs of the clients, we tailor our support in line with these frameworks and regulations.
The SBTi seeks to accelerate climate action for both companies and financial institutions worldwide. It develops standards, tools and guidance to set greenhouse gas emissions reductions targets in line with what is needed to keep global heating below catastrophic levels and reach net-zero by 2050 at latest.
The GHG Protocol complements this through global frameworks to measure and manage greenhouse gas emissions from private and public sector operations, value chains and mitigation actions. In line with the GHG Protocol, PCAF helps financial institutions assess and disclose emissions from their loans and investments through GHG accounting; while the PRI offer a menu of actions to incorporate ESG issues into investment practices.
Beyond voluntary frameworks and guidelines, companies increasingly face binding regulation around climate change – The CSRD, for example, is a set of EU rules that requires large and listed companies to regularly report on the social and environmental risks they face, and on how their activities impact people and the environment.
By integrating the above approaches and requirements into our advisory services as needed, we offer a robust foundation for companies and financial institutions to become transition towards net-zero. Our tools and advisory help them assess, compare and prioritize climate-related risks and dependencies; turn ideas into effective strategies & science-based targets; engage with suppliers on their scope 3 emissions; and track & report on progress in line with leading reporting and disclosure frameworks.
