Susan Burns, Principal, is a management consultant with
over 15 years of experience working with businesses on environmental and sustainability
strategy and implementation. She is an expert on how sustainability principles are used to
enhance environmental management systems. Areas of expertise include best practices
research and benchmarking, The Natural Step framework, environmental management systems,
performance measurement and reporting, organizational learning, and group facilitation.
She recently developed the screening methodology and detailed criteria used to select
sustainability leaders for a new mutual fund.
Susan formerly directed the Training Services practice for
ERM-West, a major environmental consulting firm, where she developed training programs for
numerous major corporations. She also co-founded Environmental Video Products, which
provides educational tools for hundreds of corporations. She is on the board of directors
of the Center for Watershed and Community Health and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in
Thermal and Environmental Engineering.
